Amnesty International & london college human rights club

On 26 February 2008, the first college Human Rights Club was officially launched at London College by the Honorable Rama Valayden, Attorney General and Minister of Justice and Human Rights.

AimS

Youth development and awareness of the protection, promotion and application of human rights.

Objectives

Ø      To educate   in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights so that students become valuable advocates for tolerance and peace.

Ø      To empower students in the fields of Human Rights and to act against human violations.

Ø      To encourage government to incorporate the teaching of Human Rights into the school curricula.

Ø      To raise public awareness on

-child prostitution.

-Incest\sexual harassment.

-child labour.

Ø      To support human rights organisations or groups in other colleges that work to safeguard one or more of the 30 rights.
